18-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Fish Pond Last Wed. Last Wednesday afternoon Mr. Henry Googe, the eighteen year old son of Mrs. H. W. Googe, who lives eight miles North of hear near Melton’s chapel, drowned about one o’clock in McCright’s fish pond.
The deceased was swimming in the pond and it was supposed that he had a convulsion which caused him to drown due to the fact that he was swimming alone.
The funeral services were conducted at Memorial Church Cemetery Thursday afternoon at four o’clock by Rev. A. P. Foster, in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends who gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to this splendid young man. The bereaved mother and other relatives have the deepest sympathy of the News-Banner in the loss of her son and their relative.
