Eunice Neville Calhoun died August 21, 1999, in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.
A member of the Savannah Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, she welcomed tourists to Savannah in the 1970s by placing flowers and foliage plants in the lobby of the visitors' center.
SURVIVORS: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Ardelia Calhoun of Savannah, Dorothy Eunice and D.Q. Harris Jr. of McRae, and Sara Ellis and William B. James of Savannah; two sisters, Mrs. Fred S. Harford of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mrs. Joe Edwards Sr. of Claxton; a brother, Sam Neville of Statesboro; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Monday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, burial at 4:30 p.m. in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro.
NOTE: Mrs. Eunice Calhoun was the widow of Dr. Benjamin Jurell Calhoun, longtime pharmacist in Baxley before retiring and moving to Savannah. Dr. Calhoun also invented and patented a line of healing products under the name "Calhoun's . . .", which his wife helped him to market.
