Hello, I am attempting to locate information on my g.g.grandmother. Her name is Mary C Griggs B 1839. On the 1880 census she is listed without a husband but with several of her children. One child was named Josephine, my g. grandmother was listed as Linda age 7 ( her proper name was Martha MaLinda Griggs) In 1885 Mary C Griggs applied for Homestead, could find no other information. Linda married John A McDougle in Dawsonville in 1894 and their eldest son Homer was born in Dawson County. I am trying to locate the name of Mary C.'s husband or anything about the family. Linda and John McDougle moved to Alabama around the year l900. Any information discovered will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Harry D Hurst
