Pleasant Grove CemeteryAlso called Crabtree Cemetery or Taylor/Crabtree CemeteryThe Pleasant Grove Cemetery is located in Molino, behind the site of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church (original church building 1905; rebuilt in the early 1950s; completely destroyed by arson May, 2003). Regular church services here were discontinued in the mid-1960s when members merged with Aldersgate United Methodist Church, or moved to McGhee or Lathram Chapels. Annual Homecomings are, however, still held here by the many descendants of the founding members, and the cemetery continues in use for those families. (The left side of the cemetery is generally used by descendants of the Taylors, while the right side is allocated to Crabtrees and Vaughans.) Directions: From Pensacola, go North on Hwy 29 to Molino Road (State Road 182); turn left (West) on 182 and go west 2.4 miles to Sunshine Road. Turn right and go north 1 mile to Crabtree Church Road. Turn left and go west again for 1.8 miles to Gibson Road. Turn right and go north about 100 yards on Gibson Road. This cemetery was surveyed on October 18, 2003 by Andrea (Golightly) Clark, Martha (Dreadin) Davis, and Faye (Dreadin) McBurney, all granddaughters of Andrew Jackson Taylor and Martha Adeline Smith Taylor. Please send corrections or additions to Evan Strohl, WFGS Chairman, Cemetery Committee, or the Webmaster.
