Greater Springhill AMEZ Church Cemetery

This Black cemetery and church are located at the intersection of Millview Road (now Blue Angel Parkway) and Godwin Lane in the Bellview community.

Directions: Drive west on Saufley Field Road from US90 (Mobile Hwy.) to Blue Angel Parkway. Turn right at the stoplight and go a mile or so to Godwin Lane, which is right behind the Fairgrounds. Greater Springhill Church and the cemetery are on the right. There are approximately 20 graves noted in the 1980’s, most unmarked.

The cemetery was surveyed by Evan Strohl and Erin Callaway and members of the West Florida Genealogical Society (WFGS) in 1986 and published in Volume 2, Gravestone Registry, Escambia County, Fla. It was transcribed from that publication and contributed to the Escambia County USGenWeb by Carolyn Reedy, with permission of the WFGS Board of Directors.

Please send corrections or additions to Evan Strohl, Chairman, WFGS Cemetery Committee, or the Webmaster. All sources will be credited.
