2001 SLOAN FAMILY REUNION
All Sloans, and related families, descended from the Sloans in Decatur County,
Ga.; Jackson County, Fl.; Washington Co. Fl.; Hillsborough County, Fl.; Polk
County, Fl; and all other environs as may be appropriate, are cordially invited
to the third annual Sloan Family Reunion IN Graceville, Fl.
Time: July 7, 2001, 9:00 am til everyone leaves
Place: First Assembly of God Church Dining Hall,
5565 Brown Street (Hwy 77)
Graceville, Florida.
The church is located on the North side of town just past the high school.

Some of the known related families are: Braxton, Bridges, Broome, Collins,
Champion, Cloud, Finch, Fowler, Forehand, Gay, Griffin(of Decatur Co. GA.)
Hatcher, Leggon, Mears, Meeks, Mullis, Robbins, Stewart. Anyone with a connection
to the Sloan family is welcome, including just good friends and neighbors.
Everyone should plan to bring a covered dish, and/or soft drinks. A microwave
will be available to reheat items and several of the locals will supply some
basic utensils and refreshments. No alcohol allowed at the church and all
smoking must be done outside the building. A playground is available for
the children.
Everyone planning to attend please notify the coordinator, Frank Sloan, by
no later than June 1, 2001 so that proper preparations can be made. Anyone
needing more information or some form of assistance may also contact Frank
Sloan at the above numbers. Weekday phone calls should be after 6:00 pm CST.
Please bring any and all family information such as Family Bibles, pictures
of the family new and especially old, old documents such as marriage records,
funeral records, wills, deeds military discharge records, etc. I plan to
have a computer set up to scan things for the Sloan Family Database.
Please fill out a Family Information Sheet with all known family information
and return it to me prior to the reunion so I can update the Sloan Family
Database before everyone arrives.
Motel accommodations are available nearby in Chipley, Florida or Dothan,
Alabama if needed. Make reservations early. Rooms are going fast because
of the holiday weekend. |

The annual JOHN SELLERS reunion will take place at the National Guard Armory
in Chipley on August 11, 2001. Start time will be at 9:00 AM. The place has
been changed as well as the date. This year we will meet on the second Saturday
instead of Sunday. Ask that everyone please bring all of their photo's and
any stories that they have of the family history. If my computer holds up
I would like to make copies of all of the old photo's and put them on CD-R's.
All SELLERS-SHORES-KELLY/EY'S-PREVATTE'S-and any other related surnames are
invited to attend. I have located a great-great granddaughter of Joshua who
I hope will attend.
Also, hope to have additional information on Isaac Shores. Please bring a
favorite covered dish for the noon meal. Some entertainment will be provided
for the kids. If you have a favorite kids video please bring it. |
MILLER REUNION - The Descendants of Benjamin (Ben) Miller and Eliza Anderson
of Washington County 1881 will be having a Miller Family reunion in DeFuniak
Springs, Florida on October 20, 2001. It will take place at the Chautauqua

Hi Everyone --
This is important! The time for our annual White Family Reunion/Gathering
will soon be here, In fact it is the first Saturday in May, the CWA UNION
HALL, on Rairoad Avenue in Chipley. The building will be open at 10 a.m.
We will have lunch about 12 o'clock. My brother, Abbott, is now the chairman
and does a good job. I have volunteered to help with the publicity and NEED
YOUR HELP. It is in my mind (?) to use all resources possible, including
the internet, to get the word out. I need addresses, both land mail and email.

Sylvania Church and Cemetary are one and the same. My family name is Green.
My race is African-American. Also buried there are family's Potter, Pompey,
Sheffield and Roach. The Church and cemetary are in Vernon East of downtown
and South of the Wewa highway. My mother family Church and Cemetary are St.
Luke. Their name is Jackson and is located just north of Ebro and west of
highway 79 in a place call Redhead. Keep up the good work. |
