What is the South Bay Genealogical Society (SBGS)? A local, independent organization, devoted to assisting its members in the pursuit of their family history.

How does SBGS do that? By holding a monthly luncheon meeting that features outstanding speakers on genealogy subjects.

Is that all that SBGS has to offer? Oh, no! We publish a monthly  newsletter, LINKS, distributed by email, that contains information about the Society and genealogy in general. We also hold periodic Workshops and  Roundtables, plus we arrange group visits to Genealogical Libraries, Seminars, and the like for our members..

Do you have classes in genealogy? Not at this time.

How much does this all cost? Our annual dues are $25 per family,  per calendar year.

Am I eligible to join? Yes. Our only membership criteria is an interest in genealogy.

Where do you meet?  Our luncheon meetings are held at United Methodist Church (UMC), 1210 W Del Webb Blvd, Sun City Center. Our meeting location will be in the Life Enrichment Center (LEC) auditorium, behind the church.    We meet at noon on the third Tuesdays of the month, September through May.

How do I join? Just complete the application and send it in or  bring it to a meeting. CLICK HERE for the membership application.

Do I need a reservation for the luncheons? Yes.  Contact Dotty Love at least seven (12) days prior to the meeting. Phone 813-634-2749 or send check including names of attendees to SBGS, PO Box 5202, Sun City Center, FL least ten (12) days prior to the meeting.
