Basinger Cemetery is located on U.S. Highway 98, 15 miles N.W. of Okeechobee City, near the the village of Basinger.

Evergreen Cemetery is located on Cemetery Road, 1 mile east of U.S. Highway 441 and 4 miles north of Okeechobee City.

Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery is just east of the intersection on Highway 70 and 441.

Ft. Drum Cemetery is located about 17 miles north of Okeechobee City near U.S. Highway 441.

Ft. Kissimmee Cemetery
Avon Park, Highlands County, Florida

This cemetery was surveyed May 2001. It is located inside the Avon Park Bombing Range on the Kissimmee River. About a 30 minute ride from the front gate. This was settlers for that area. The government moved everyone out just before the war in 1942. Family of these settlers have been buried here since then.

The story goes that back around about 1890, John Sheffield and a man named Shaw were working on the school house at Fort Kissimmee, where they lived. They got into a violent argument about something. They both got their shotguns and shot each other. John's two small boys stood and watched. They were John Lewis and Tom Sheffield. The families of the two men built coffins from the lumber being used on the school house and they were the first to be buried in the Fort Kissimmee Cemetery.
