MACCLENNY, July 7. � Robert Lee Wolfe, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Wolfe of Macclenny, has been killed in action according to an announcement from the U.S. Navy. Wolfe was an aviation ordananceman, second class, and joined the Navy in April, 1942. He had been in active service since September, 1942, and would soon have completed two years foreign service with the Navy.
Wolfe was a graduate of the Macclenny High School class of 1941 and prior to his enlistment was connected with the State Road Department in High Springs and other parts of Florida.
Born in Sylvester, Ga., February 6, 1922, Wolfe was well known in this section of the State and South Georgia.
He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Jesse Wolfe, U.S. Army, Camp Clairborn, La., and John J. Wolfe, Y 1-c, USNR, care Postmaster, San Francisco, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. C.R. Gravely of Miami.
Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Sunday at 3:30 o�clock with a chaplain from the U.S. Naval Air Station officiating.
