The first coach was Jimmy Mott, an excellent tenor voice. The second coach was the memorable Anton Koeninger, a hard cussing, volatile, loud, and very caring gentleman from Pennsylvania. He amused the crowd by throwing his hat on the ground and stomping it when things didn't go the way he wanted (but we did't laugh where he could see it). He was like a stern but loving father to his boys. He had a secret tender side which he tried to keep hidden.
