"The old Raiford road, the 2 story bldg. across from the Pure station. I am not sure if it was Mr. Knabb's or Millard Brown's... I know Millard ran it for a long time...well, I lived across the tracks then, and that bldg. was Dewey Hicks' cleaners, or as the peg legged colored man that worked for him called it 'the pressing club'. I know Eskell Odom and his wife lived upstairs for years..and in back of that, Dick Jones and his family lived in a little camp trailer by the block bldg.which was his garage...Ms. Edna put out quite a wash by the looks of the clothes on the line."....Ruby Yarborough Barg 22 Jun 09
