Judge Walling Family Pictures

This picture of Judge Walling and family came from Anne Lurie, a granddaughter of Aunt Marion. It was taken about 1898 and contains:
Back row, L to R: William Benson Walling; Ralph Gordon Walling.
Sitting: Grace Ellen Marshall Walling, with Marietta Marshall Walling on her lap; Judge Emory Andrew Scott Walling, with Marion Elizabeth Walling on his lap.
On the right is Laura Cordelia Walling.

Here is a picture from one of our Walling photo albums. Back row, L to R: Judge Walling; Uncle Will Walling; Marietta Marshall Walling at a young age; Harriet and Esther say the woman on the end is definitely Grandma Grace Marshall Walling, though it's been previoously identified as Aunt Ettie. Front row, L to R: Aunt Marion Walling with probably Henrietta Walling (b. 1/27/1910) on her lap; Aunt Laura Cordelia Walling with probably Ellen Walling (b. 8/4/1912) on her lap; and last, probably Uncle Will's wife Anna. Its caption says, "The family's the thing".

Next is "Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, 1922". From "Courts and Lawyers of Pennsylvania", v. 4, by Frank M. Eastman, 1922, facing p. 1, from the U. of Delaware library. Emory Andrew Scott Walling, lower right.

Next is a picture of Judge Walling courtesy of the Erie Bar Association, and a picture that came from Aunt Marion which is probably him at a young age.

Next is a picture of Emory A. Walling courtesy of Barbara Reeder. (It looks a lot like the one from the article about him in the Erie Daily Times, 1/1/1908.) Then one taken from Esther Lennertz's copy of JudgeWalling's book.

Next is my grandmother Marietta Marshall Walling. Down in the corner it seems to say "Lowe/.08". If 1908 is the year it was taken, she would have been about 12. Lowe may be the name of the studio. Next to her is her sister Aunt Marion Crawford, from Jane Luschwitz.

Next is Uncle Will Walling from the 1903 Stanford yearbook, p. 89, when he was a Junior. Then him again with a little less hair. Then Aunt Laura Walling Sawdey from p. 5 of Scott Coyle's "Five Generations of Family".

Lastly, two rare pictures of Uncle Ralph Walling as an adult, from Scott Coyle. First, Commander Ralph Walling, "likely taken in 1942 when he was 57" says Scott (e-mail 9/30/2010). Secondly, at an Eastwood Farm picnic. Not too distinct, but he does look like a Walling.
