This picture came from Karen Michaelis. It's of a Walling/Elliott/Wilkinson family reunion. George Elliott Wilkinson took this picture in 1911 (though that doesn't explain why he's in it). Karen supplies most of the identifications. Can you identify any of the others? 1. Edna Kimball Bemiss, wife of #2 2. William Hartley Bemiss 3. Merle Kimball Bemiss, 90 years old as of 2000. Scott Coyle says he "was born on 10 August 1910. He looks about one year old in this picture - further evidence that the picture was taken at the 1911 reunion." 4. Laura Cordelia Walling, age 19 5. Probably either Marietta Marshall Walling at 13 or Marion Elizabeth Walling at 15 6. This was thought to be Harry Hartley, but Cheryl Kline positively identifies it as her grandfather Arthur Lee Hartley, born 16 Jan 1902. 7. Grace Ellen Marshall Walling 8. Mabel Kress Evans 9. Regarding the first three people, Shirley Bemiss Thompson maintains that the above identifications are correct, and when you look at the pictures she sent of Laura Lucinda's family elsewhere on this website, the resemblance is very close. But I still think there is a possibility that this is William Benson Walling, his wife Anna M. Bostwick Walling, and their daughter Henrietta Grace Walling b. 1/27/1910; and they are standing next to his father Judge Walling's family. Now, William Benson Walling was skinnier than that. His wife looks similarly distorted, but so does #26 at the other end of the picture, so maybe this is the fault the camera lens.
