EAST BERNE -- Robert C. Fay, 85, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, March 5, 2006.
Born in NYC, he was the son of the late Emmett and Daisey Fay. He was a test driver for Walter Motor Truck in Voorheesville for 28 years. His wife, Dorothy Fay predeceased him in 1986.
Robert proudly served his country during World War II after enlisting in the U.S. Army on September 17, 1940. He began his tour of duty as an aircraft mechanic and went on to become a B-29 bombardier serving in Hawaii and Tinian in the Pacific Theater. His many awards include two Bronze Stars, the American Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. Robert was honorably discharged on November 3, 1945.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Maria Fay of Scotia; seven nieces and nephews, two of them from Altamont, Irene Peck and Walter Fay. He was predeceased by his son, Robert H. Fay and by his brothers and sisters, Marion, Alice, Ada, Irene, Walter, George, Howard, Charlie, Arthur and Milton Fay.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne.

EAST BERNE -- Dorothy H. Fay, 82, of Helderberg Trail, died Wednesday, November 6, 1996 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home. Mrs. Fay was born in New York City and moved to East Berne in 1958. She was a homemaker for most of her life, following a brief time where she worked as a production manager for the Hearst Magazines in New York City. She was a republican committeewoman in the Town of Berne for many years and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in East Berne. She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Fay; one son, Robert H. Fay of Schoharie and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Services on Saturday will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne, NY.

NISKAYUNA -- Robert H. Fay, 48, of Niskayuna, died August 29, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a long illness.
Born on October 17, 1957 in New York City, he moved to the Capital District with his family, residing in Berne, N.Y. He was a graduate of Berne-Knox High School, Class of 1975. Mr. Fay was a design engineer for Atlas Copco and later for Turbotechnologies in Scotia for the past 10 years. He was an accomplished artist and wood craftsman. Bob created fine art and had an affinity for animals, especially dogs. He was often seen walking his Newfoundland on Maple Avenue in Scotia. An avid reader, he especially enjoyed science fiction books and magazines and horror novels. His belief was in the extraterrestrial.
Survivors include his father, Robert C. Fay of East Berne; his wife, Fernanda Rojas Fay; and stepdaughter, Victoria Rojas of Niskayuna. Robert was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Hudson Fay.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 3 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville with Mr. Jack E. Arnold officiating. There will be no prior calling hours.
