Jonathan was born 1/30/1795 in Westboro, MA, and died 12/25/1883 in Exeter, MI. He was the eighth of twelve children.

| In 1826, he went to Michigan, where all but the first two of his sixteen children were born. The first five children are by his first wife, Lois King (5/31/1803 - 4/12/1834). His second marriage was to Fanny Swap (8/15/1818 - 8/4/1885) on 10/22/1835. Eleven children were born to that marriage.

Left home when 18 yrs old. By 1870 he is in Kansas and married to Amelia. One source claims that he had three wives and four children. Only Amelia has been found in the census so far, and there is some doubt about Alice. Anson has not been found. No child named Arcosta has been found, but Incersia is in 1880 and Incertia in 1900.
