Married Annie True, daughter of Walter W. True at Upton, Mass. 7-10-1921 by the Rev. William G. Poor, pastor of Upton Congregational Church, at a home wedding at her father's house.

They had three sons.

H. Daniel attended the old Stone district school in Sutton until the death of his father in 1904. The family then moved to Upton where he attended school until he was fourteen.
|
|
He went to work as the first night telephone operator at the Upton exchange. At that time there were less than forty telephones in the town. Later he went into the Milford office when they built the building on Main Street.
|
|
After that was completed he went to the office in Worcester as test man.
|
|
He left the Telephone Company to learn the tool makers and machinist trade at the Draper Co. in Hopedale, Mass. After serving his apprenticeship, he accepted a position as foreman at the Hopedale Mfg. Co..
|
|
During World War #I he tried to enlist in the armed service but was rejected.
|
|
He worked as foreman and later as master mechanic at Bradley Car works, Worcester, Mass., and also at the Standard Steel Corps.
|
|
He resigned in 1920 to go into the Garage business for himself in Upton--Fays Garage.
|
|
While operating the garage he became associated with Henry A. Tuttle. He made and installed the first four-wheel brakes on an automobile, a Cadillac. They were a success and sold to General Motors Corp. and became known as the Huck brake.

|
In 1928 he bought out the Chevrolet dealership for Westboro, Northboro, Shrewsbury and Upton. He went broke in the bank holiday and depression that followed.
|
|
He was appointed Mass. Light and Brake Inspector in 1928. Started Upton school bus transportation in 1930. He was appointed Fire Warden in 1929, Fire engineer in 1931 and Asst. chief in 1932.

|
He was one of the organizers and charter members of the Blackstone Valley Association, the first to be organized in the State.
|
|
During World War #2 he was special investigator on war work at the Norton Co., Worcester, Mass.
|
|
From 1946 to 1952 he was connected with Fiske Farms Apple Growers of Grafton, Mass. in charge of machinery.
|
|
Upton request, he was one of the compilers of the Upton Town History of 1735-1935 in book form published for the celebration of the 200th Anniverary of the town.
|
|
He is a member of the First Congregational Church of Upton.
