HERVE FAY

Herve Fay lives in Papeete, the capital city of the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia. He works with print techniques and painting, and he is a teacher at the School for Applied Arts in Papeete.

The following examples of his artworks were taken from three places on the internet. Permission to use these images on this site has been requested. If it is not granted, these images will be taken down, of course.

The first set of seven paintings comes from the Banyan Project, "A TRAVELING FESTIVAL: Offroad presentations of works by artists, musicians, VJs, filmmakers and performers from the places the project travels through. Workshops in schools, youth clubs and cultural centers." The site showcases the works of many artists.

Below, on the left, an eighth painting from the Banyan Project.
On the right, a painting which was used as the cover illustration of TAHITI-Pacifique magazine, #136, August, 2002.     (image used with permission)

The five paintings below are offered by Robyn Buntin's Oceania Gallery. They are done on "Painted and embossed hand-made bark-cloth (tapa)," and it is possible that all of Herve's work is done that way.     (images used with permission)
