| Funeral Is This Afternoon For Retired Railway Official |
Charles Spencer Fay, 79, retired railway official, died at his Prien Lake home at 3:30 o'clock Thursday morning. |

Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church and burial will be in Graceland cemetery with the Hixon funeral home in charge.
The family requested that no flowers be sent. |

Mr. Fay began his career as a clerk in the employ of the Southern Pacific Lines in New Orleans in 1887. In 1928 he moved to Houston and from that time until he retired in 1934 he was vice president and traffic manager of the company. |

Upon his retirement, he and Mrs. Fay moved to Prien Lake near Lake Charles. |
|
He was born in Minden, La., October 23, 1867, the son of Edwin Hedge Fay, and Sara Shields Fay. He was educated in Siliman Institute, Clinton, La. and at the Louisiana State University. |

He is survived by Mrs. Fay, the former Miss Clara Shroeder of Omaha, Nebr., two sons, Albert Bel Fay and Ernest Bel Fay of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin Stebbins of Lake Charles, and Miss Marion Spencer Fay of Philadelphia; eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, Ellen Chapin Stebbins of Lake Charles. |

He was preceded in death by another son, Charles Spencer Fay, Jr., who died in 1901. |
|
All friends of the family have been designated as honorary pallbearers. |
|
Active pallbearers will be three grandsons, Thornwell F. Stebbins, Edwin A. Stebbins, Chapin Stebbins, three nephews, Edwin Fay, Thornwell Fay, Charles Fay, and two close friends, Harry Chalkley and Joseph Vanko.
