Heman A. Fay -- Promoted 2nd Lieut. Reg. of Artillerists June 13, 1808 -- First Lieut, Dec. 23, 1811. Transferred to Corps of Artillery May 12, 1814 -- Disbanded June 15, 1815 -- Chief Clerk & Principal Forage Master in the Office of Col. James R. Mullany, QuarterMaster General of the Northern Division from Sept. 1816 to Dec. 1817, when he was appointed Military Store Keeper at Albany, N. Y. & within one year after was appointed (by Gen. Jesup) Agent of the Quartermaster General. Dept., which office I held until June 1842; was removed by that Janus-faced Man John C Spencer, to make room for a man who had done him some favor -- I have not served the U. S. in any capacity Military or Civil since.
