Small Fire and Bad Accident
Monday afternoon the small frame residence the property of Mrs Ferson in West Butler was entirely consumed by fire together with the household effects. The family was away from home when the fire originated and when noticed by the neighbors the interior of the building was a seething furnace of fire. It is not known how the fire started. Thomas Evilsizer, a young man living across the street was the first to discover the fire and jumping into a spring wagon came onto thwe public square at full speed to give the alarm. When it was in front of the Potter Livery barn near the fire department his anxiety to get to the bell got the better of his judgment and he jumped from the wagon while the horse was at full speed, to the macadamized street and in the fall had the misfortune to break his right leg near the ankle joint. The ankle joint was also throwm out of place. The break is in a bad place and will be some time before he will be able to get about again. He is one of Butler's most industrious young men and the accident is very unfortunate for him.

Seriously Hurt in Runaway
Tom Evilsizer was seriously injured by being thrown from a wagon, alighting on his head against a post. He was rendered unconscious and remained in that condition for several hours. The accident happened on the road south of town near Frank Vori's place last Monday morning. Dr Foster was summoned and had brought him to his office, where he dressed his injuries. The scalp was so badly lacerated that it required eighteen stitches. While his injuires are very serious, Dr Foster expressed the opinon that he wound recover.
