House Boats across from Riverside Park

1919 Saginaw Directory p. 497 HUBBARD, Joseph L, motorman, res. houseboat s of Court S. bridge HUBBARD, Martha A (wid Henry) bds 149 Osborn p. 955 STEWART, Cassius M. Supt. of County Poor res 1012 Hoyt Then in 1920 I can't find Joseph HUBBARD or Cassius STEWART on the 1920 Census. The houseboat was owned before 1900 by T.E. Doughty as a summer home. I've been told it was by Riverside Park. Marcia Doughty Hubbard lived in it only a year or two when first married.  [email protected]

I've been reading all the emails about the houseboats. They were at the Center St bridge that has been renamed after a previous mayor. The
bridge crosses over by the Malleable Iron Plant. The road has had several names, one of them Queen St. And there was a dump (that we also used) on the west side of
the river. The houseboats were on the eastside of the river. Karen

My mom lived on a houseboat on the Saginaw River when she was a child. Probably in the 1920's.  She said that some boats would break free in the night and when people woke up in the morning they would be in Bay City. That would be a real eye opener in the morning huh?I have more Sag Cards to send, but it is time consuming so I will just send a few at a time.
