This building is still in St Charles
downtown area...if you can call it downtown. It was later
Bellenbaum's Store. My aunt worked there as a teen.
Bellenbaum's were cousins to my great grandmother Louise Wirsing.
She met my great grandfather Hiram Edward Rappleyea at this store.
Inside the store you can find old historical photos on the walls.
It is worth a trip to see it. also the upper story was once
the local theatre and traveling theatrical groups would perform
there. Some of the older employes working there today know the
history.
My family is from ST. Charles.
