This village and parish are just south of Grimsby. Waltham parish is to the north and Ashby cum Fenby to the south. Waithe Beck flows through the parish and skirts the south edge of the village. The parish covers only about 900 acres.

Poorhouses, Poor Law, etc.

• After the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act reforms, the parish became part of the Caistor Poor Law Union.
