This is a transcription of the school admissions register for Gerrans and has been made from the images of the original document on film 1471658 courtesy of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Admissions start in 1876 and the latest date of a pupil leaving is in 1935 so about half of these records are more recent than the 1901 census!
Please note that I have not followed my usual 2-pass process of transcribe and then check. I think that I've been fairly accurate but it was just too painful to go through it all again! Hence if you find any records that are of interest then please email me with the record numbers and the page reference (at the end of each record) and I will double check them for you.
I hope you will find some gems of information in these records. In general they contain the date of admission, name of pupil, name of parent/guardian, address, date of birth, name or previous school, starting class and ending class, date of leaving and the reason for leaving.
The headmasters listed on the front page of the register were:
Alfred JOHNS (Exeter 1897-98) from 1st Sep 1902 to 31st
Mar 1916;
Rodney H KEAST (Culham 1911-13) from 19th Jun 1916; and
R C HARDING (Exeter 1908-??) from 1st Sep 1919
