The Plough Inn - Title Deeds

25th March 1897

24th July 1899

25th July 1978

Today as in the 19th Century two Public Houses are serving the villagers and the passing public.  One of these two hostelries is The Plough Inn, today run by Timothy and Vanessa HYDE.

Thanks to Timothy and Vanessa I have in my possession copies of the deeds associated with this and a few sundry premises around The Plough.

Having visited The Plough recently I was left imagining how our ancestors from the village would have, after a hard days work, stopped off their for a drink and the welcome look they would have received from the then landlord.  I have no doubt this was no different to the one I received recently.  The only thing I imagine that would be different from our ancestors day and our own is the fact the Pub now serves food daily.  So why not should you be visiting your ancestors village drop by The Plough and sample their fine wares and the friendly atmosphere.  I am sure Timothy and Vanessa would welcome you in the same way they did myself.

For more information on what they sell telephone them on 01283 761354.  The information contained on these pages is all they know relating to The Plough as they themselves are new to this Public House and the village.

My thanks to Timothy and Vanessa again for making these documents available and for allowing me to transcribe and place on this site.
