St. Michael's is Late Norman in origin but has been considerably altered over the centuries. The 15th C west tower is in Perp style. It has three stages, with battlements, two-light bell-openings, diagonal buttresses and a Perp west window. The 13th C chancel was restored by Waller & Son in 1902-03. There is a Norman north doorway with chevroned arch with billet and star ornament. The south doorway has been relocated to the south side of the transept and provided with a new tympanum under an arch of three orders with roll and chevron mouldings, and assorted capitals. The interior walls of the church are scraped. The font is Perp, octagonal and has a quatrefoil on each face of the octagon. There is stained glass in the church by Heaton, Butler & Bayne.
