"The Clanton Advertiser, " page 2, January 6, 2002, A memorial service was held for Dr. Clyde Hobson Foshee, 98, Louisville, Ky, on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at Pearson Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial followed at Cave Hill Cemetery, with Pearson Funeral home directing. Foshee was born on July 2, 1903, the son of Charles Doster Foshee and Irona Popwell Foshee. He was born on a cotton farm on the Chilton County-Autauga County line near Billingsley. He attended high school in Clanton, as the old Billingsley school went only through the eighth grade at that time. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and Harvard Medical School, and was an Army Medical Corps veteran of World War II. He was a practicing physician for over 40 years and a former president of the Jefferson County (Kentucky) Medical Society. He was a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons and the Cato Society of Retired Physicians. He was a member and former deacon of Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville. He made numerous trips to Billingsley School to present commencement scholarships fro the family's charitable foundation set up for Billingsley graduates. He died Saturday, December 22, at his home in Louisville. He is survived by his wife, the former Isabel Board; two daughters, Mary Agnes Norman, Louisville, and Isabel Plambeck, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; three sons, Clyde H. Foshee, Jr., Dr. Hugh B. Foshee, and Robert M. Foshee, all of Louisville; one brother, Charles C. Foshee, Verbena; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Betha Culver Foshee; three brothers, John Clinton Foshee, Mitchell Foshee and Hugh Madison Foshee; and one sister, Mary Esther Foshee Seay. FOSHEE, ISABEL BOARD, 99, of Louisville, died in her sleep on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at her home. She was born on March 31, 1909 to Milton Board, M.D. and Isabel Miller Board. A 1931 graduate of Vassar College, she was married to Dr. Clyde H. Foshee for over 65 years, until his death in 2001. She was an avid reader, a great lover of music and a witty poet. She played the piano daily until the last days of her life. Above all, her faith and her family brought her the greatest joy and pleasure. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for over sixty years, a member of the Louisville Boat Club and a former member of the Junior League. In addition to her parents and Dr. Foshee, Mrs. Foshee was predeceased by her sister, Agnes Board Dodd; her brothers, Frank Milton Board and Robert C. Board; and her nephew, John L. Dodd III. She is survived by her children, Mary Agnes Norman (Jon), Isabel Plambeck, Clyde H. Foshee Jr. (Betsy), Dr. Hugh B. Foshee (Kathy) and Robert M. Foshee (Cindy). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Virginia Plambeck of Arcata, CA, Susan Barnes of Milwaukie, OR, Margaret Zaepfel of Leesburg, VA, Robert C. Foshee and Franklin Foshee of Louisville, Patricia Connally of Charlotte, NC, and Eli Foshee, Anna Foshee and Michael Foshee of Louisville; and her great- grandchildren, Julia, Jessica and Jonathan Barnes, Jillian Zaepfel, Caroline, Graham and Olivia Foshee, and Amelia and Charlotte Connally. The family extends its deep appreciation to the staff of Home Instead and especially to longtime devoted caregivers Archie Adams and Michele Shead. Visitation will be at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, 10:30 a.m. -noon Saturday, February 14, 2009, followed immediately by services at Pearson's and burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
