About James Donald Eiland:
James Eiland - STANTON - Graveside services for James D. Eiland, 84, of Marble Falls will be at 2 p.m.
today in Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. He died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002. He was born April 23, 1918,
in Wellington, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1935. He graduated from Texas A&M
in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and reached the rank of major, serving mostly in the
South Pacific. He married Mildred Chapman June 10, 1951, in Stanton. He worked for Caprock Electric
Co-op in Stanton for 35 years and retired as general manager. He was a member of the Lion's Club for
more than 50 years and was a Mason. He served with the Chamber of Commerce for 20 years and was active
with Boy Scouts, 4-H, and FFA. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls. Survivors
include his wife; a son, Mark of Austin; and two grandchildren. The family suggest memorials to Alzheimer's
research or to a favorite charity.
