Ray Estelle Carter Walker
Ray Estelle Carter Walker was born Dec. 16, 1914, and died March 1, 2005, in Mexia.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, C.D. and Roxyanne Carter; two brothers, Virgil and Arthur Carter; and a sister, Thelma Carter Long. She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Ann Adams and her husband Lynn of Mexia, Jerry Lawrence and husband John of Austin, and Molly Dusenberry of Dallas.

In addition there are five grandchildren, Elisa Knebel and husband Girin Beeharry, Keven Knebel and wife Fancy, Kenneth Mahoney and wife Betty, Jennifer Dusenberry and Chris Kyle. Great-grandchildren are Charles Mahoney and Tabitha Brotherton and great-great-grandchild is Travis Brotherton. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cindy Walker of Mexia.

Mrs. Walker was born in Rodney and moved to Mexia in 1948. She was employed by the Mexia State School until her retirement in 1976. She has been a resident of the Haven Nursing Home for the past 10 years. The family would like to express their thanks for the kindness and attentive care given to Mrs. Walker by the staff at the Haven during her years of residency.

Graveside service were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at the Mexia Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Gray officiating.
