About Charles Harlan:
Funeral services for Charles Harlan, 62, of El Maton were to be at 11 a .m . Monday, Feb. 14, 2000,
at First Baptist Church in Van Vleck with the Rev. Joe Ramsey officiating. Interment was to follow at
Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck . Mr . Harlan died at his residence Feb.12, 2000. He was
born Nov. 5, 1937 in Encinal, Texas to Charles Augustus and Ewell Irene Parker Harlan. Mr . Harlan
was a member of First Baptist Church of Van Veck, a resident of the El Maton area the past 16 years
and a former resident of Bay City. He was the owner /operator of Truck and Auto in Van Vleck .
Survivors
include: wife, Jackie Cobb Harlan of El Maton; mother, Irene Harlan of Baytown; two daughters and son-in-law,
Lanna Louree and Rickey Doggett and Leesa Lanay Harlan all of Baytown ; son and daughter-in-law, Brett
Ewell and Sandra Harlan of Baytown; brother, Jerry Harlan and wife Regina of Nashville, Tenn; and seven
grandchildren, Misty Hurley and Zachary Hurley both of Van Vleck, Jacob Adcock of Round Rock, Texas,
Taryn and Tanner Doggett and Britney and Kassee Harlan all of Baytown . He was preceded in death by
his father and sister, Sylvia Faye Ludtke.
Pallbearers were to include : Fred Ernst, Gordon Ludtke,
Tommy Burnside, Chuck McClary, Rickey Doggett and David Cobb. Honorary pallbearers were to include
: Gordon Mozley, Leon Garza and Louis Ziegenhals.
