About Jessie Cervantez:
Jessie and Angelina were married on August 25, 1956 at the judge's house in Jarrell, Williamson County.
The judge married them under a tree, by an old tractor. Jessie said that at the time, they had been
picking cotton in Little River, Tx, not far from there. Jessie does not have much recollection of his
parents; they both died when he was young. Jesse once said, "It's very hard when a man loses his family.
I ended up raising myself. I lived here and there; I ate here and there. I suffered too much."
Sadly, he said he can remember nothing about his parents. However, Jessie did marry and raised one
boy and six girls. He worked hard in the fields, in the orchards, and in construction. He moved his
family around to try to give them the best life. However, Jesse is not a bitter man, and he thoroughly
enjoys a good laugh. He loves his family and his grandchildren. He is now retired and has had both
knees replaced. -email from Mark Gold
