About Donnelly Ray Caffey:

DUNKIRK - Donnelly R. Caffey, age 84, of 400 South, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Miller's Merry Manor in Dunkirk. He was born in Phillipsburg, MO on January 5, 1922 to Archie and Elizabeth (Calton) Caffey. He married Elsie B. McKinney on February 27, 1950, who survives.

He was a resident of the area for over 50 years. A honorable US Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Caffey received 5 Bronze Stars during his tour. After service, Donnelly worked at Borg Warner in Muncie for over 30 years. Memberships include American Legion Post #227, Local Union 287 UAW, and he attended Calvary United Methodist Church of Dunkirk. A handyman and farmer, Mr. Caffey was also an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elsie B. Caffey of Dunkirk; two sons, Ralph E. Caffey (wife-Debra) of Dunkirk, Gary Caffey (wife-Lori) of Boone, NC; daughter, Linda F. Pickering (husband-Jay) of Martinsville, IN; two brothers, James Caffey (wife-Jean) Muncie, Toy Caffey of Dunkirk, IN; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd, Earl, John, Loren, and Leslie Caffey; one sister, Tressie Brown.
