Alonzo Wilson, 95, of Lebanon, formerly of Conway, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at his home. He was
born Aug. 9, 1909, near Phillipsburg, to Arthur and Stella (Allen) Wilson, who preceded him in death.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Venus Howerton, and two brothers, Frank and Charles Wilson.
On
June 1, 1932, he married Beulah Kathryn Long. He worked for Ivanhoe Fruit Association in California
and later started his own fruit ranch, returning to Conway in 1949 to operate his own farm. He was
a member of Warden Chapel United Methodist Church. Since moving to Lebanon from the Conway area, he
attended Heritage Baptist Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn, of the home; his son,
Lennis Wilson and his wife, Betty, of Lebanon; a brother, Roy Wilson, of Nixa; two sisters, Nellie Tucker,
of Lebanon and Maudie Howerton, of Phillipsburg; three grandchildren, Sherry Rogers, Dennis Wilson
and Lisa Morris, all of Lebanon; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Maquel and Misty; several nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
Services for Leonard Alonzo Wilson will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 19, 2005, at Colonial Chapel with Rick Howerton officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery,
under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Friends
may call at their convenience.
