Ferrin Wyatt Eiland, 89, of Columbus, GA died Sunday January 5, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House. A private
burial will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date according to McMullen Funeral
Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Eiland was born June 16, 1924 in Andalusia,
AL son of the late Milton Eiland and Rena Wyatt Eiland. He was an infantryman in the United States Army.
He was a POW, a member of American Legion, and DAV (Disabled Veterans). He was a Sanitarian for the
Columbus Health Department.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by Elmer Eiland,
JC Eiland, Ruth Bane, Evelyn Shields, James Eiland, and Athan Eiland.
Survivors include his wife;
Verna (Stinson) Eiland of Columbus, GA, sons; Ferrin W. Eiland, II (Tammy) of Shalama, FL, Marcus S.
Eiland (Connie) of Columbus, GA, Benjamin S. Eiland (Felecia) of Columbus, GA, brother; Curtis M. Eiland
(Peggy) of Blue Springs, AL, sister; Gertrude Graham of Hunstville, AL, four grandchildren, five great
grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
