Joe Ann Stevenson Eiland, age 77,
of Gautier, MS. passed away on October 26, 2012 in Gulfport, MS. She was born on January 18, 1935
in Poplarville, Miss. Mrs. Eiland moved to Jackson County with her family in 1961 and resided in Gautier
since 1973. She raised 4 sons with her late husband, Robert Clifton Eiland, to whom she was married
for 50 years. She was employed by Belk (formerly McRaes) for many years until she retired in 2007.
In
addition to her husband, Mrs. Eiland is preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Flossie Mae Gunter;
sons, baby boy Eiland and Ronnie Eiland; and daughter in law, Pam McEacharen Eiland.
She is
survived by her sons, Robert Allen Eiland of Gautier, Preston (Faye) Eiland of Helena, MS, and Pat Eiland
of Gautier; grandchildren, Kim Saucier of Gautier, Jennifer Eiland of La Marada, CA, Patrick Eiland
of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Bobby Eiland of Moss Point, Jason Eiland of Gautier, and Elisa (Bruce) McDonald
of Helena; great grandchildren, Trey and Nadia Saucier, R.W. Eiland, Logan, Emilee, and Landon Ulrich,
and Steven McDonald; brother, Ron (Tina) Gunter of Jackson Co.; and sister, Sandy Pointer of Gautier;
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Bobby
& Jason Eiland, great grandson Trey Eiland, and nephews Jeffrey Eiland, Michael Joe Weinketz, and Ty
Gunter.
