About Samuel David Stinson:

Excert from book "Amarillo: the story of a western town"
Acroos Polk Street from the junior and senior high schools was the Double Dip Drive-In. Opened in 1930 by Sam Stinson and J. E. Jenson, the place quickly became an Amarillo institution. After a year Stinson bought out his partner, expanded from selling home-frozen ice cream to five- and ten-cent hamburgers, soft drinks, and other lunchtime favorites for the high school students from across the street. For forty years the Doubble Dip remained the most popular place in Amarillow for students to eat lunch, meet friends, and "hang out."
