Alabama Officer Gets Thirty Wounds From Phantom Bomb
Birmingham (AP) - After surviving a German buzz bomb attach in which he suffered about 30 wounds, Comdr. Ralph T. Eiland considers himself 'lucky to be alive."

Comdr. Eiland, of the U.S. Coast Guard, related his experience with the robot while visiting his mother, Mrs. J. T. Eiland, a resident of the neighboring Homewood, yesterday. The officer said glass showered the London apratment he occupied when the reprisal bomb struck a convent next door, killing two nuns. He was injured.
Two sergeants found him and placed him in an ambulance. Enroute to the hospital, he said, the vehicle broke down and two drunks carried him the remainder of the way.
