Obituary

Carol Ann Underwood Eiland October 7, 1948 - February 12, 2012 resident of Dallas, Texas. Carol was born in LaCrosse, Kansas and raised in LaCrosse, Lubbock, TX and Dallas, TX. She graduated Class of 1966 from South Garland High School then attended Texas Tech University earning her teaching and interior design degrees.

Carol was one of four children born to the late George and Alma Underwood. She is preceded in death by her three siblings Robert, Sharon and Greg. Carol will forever be remembered by her son, Shad Eiland and her daughter, Shawna Eiland Gross, her husband Don Gross and four beloved grandchildren Hunter, Jackson, Ethan and Caroline Gross, and her devoted Schnauzer, Mitzi along with countless other family members, friends and colleagues who were blessed to know her. Carol adored her family, happily attended every grandchild's event, loved traveling with her children and spending time with her friends, all with Mitzi by her side.

Carol touched the lives of many people through her smile and generosity and maintained her trademark sense of humor to the end. A viewing will be held Thursday, February 16 from 6-8p and a service Friday, February 17 at 12 noon at Sparkman / Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX. Donations may be made in her honor to the SPCA.
