Felix Eiland, age 85, died at the home at Thorsby last Saturday morning at 8:45 o'clock following a long illness. Services were held at Thorsby Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. B. B. Burks; Spigener directing. Masons were in charge of the grave burial in Thorsby cemetery. The wife, Mrs Sarah Foshee Eiland, survives, as well as one son, E. H. Eiland of Thorsby; four sisters--Mrs. Jennie Higgins of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. C. C. Hays and Mrs. Frances Higgins both of Birmingham. Mr. Eiland was a member of a pioneer family of Chilton County, son of Ab. Eiland and Annie Chjristian Eiland, who spent their lifetime in the Cedar Grove community. Mr. Eiland has been a prominent and influential citizen of Thorsby for a number of years.
