Marjorie Nell Gambrell Hutchins
GROVES - Marjorie Nell Gambrell Hutchins, 84, of Groves, Texas
left us to be with the Lord on October 1, 2007. Marjorie was born July 15, 1923 in Thorndale, Texas
to Charles E. and Sarah M. Gambrell. She had 2 brothers and 1 sister as well as 10 nieces and 11 nephews.
She graduated from Thorndale High School in 1940 and moved to Port Arthur, Texas in 1941 where she met
a young man named James. She then married James Paul Hutchins on June 20, 1942. They were together over
65 wonderful years. They were blessed with two sons, James Paul Hutchins, Jr. and Randy Bruce Hutchins.
Her dream was to be a ?stay-at-home? mom, which she happily was able to fulfill. She enjoyed her hobbies
of sewing, photography, gardening, and caring for her home and family. She was a long standing member
of the United Methodist Temple of Port Arthur, Texas as well as a member of the Lakeview Methodist Church
and of the Cullen Hamilton Bible Class. She is survived by her husband, James Paul Hutchins, Sr.;
sister, Birdie Lee Gambrell of Thorndale, Texas; son, Randy Hutchins and wife, Debra Brau Hutchins;
daughter-in-law, Jodie Andrus Hutchins; three grandchildren, Dana Michelle Murphy, married to Carl
Murphy of Orangefield, Texas, Aaron James Hutchins, married to Jennifer Blanchard Hutchins of Cypress,
Texas and Caleb Paul Hutchins of Port Neches, Texas; great grandchildren, Samantha Murphy, Carli Jo
Murphy, and Jacob Wade Hutchins. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Rankin and Jasper
Gambrell; her son, James Paul Hutchins, Jr.; and her great grandson, Michael Casey Hutchins. Visitation
will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 6:00 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the United Methodist
Temple with Reverend Chuck Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port
Neches, TX.
