About Michael Caffey:
When Michael died he left a widow, Christina Filings she was not the mother of any of his children since
they didn't marry until 1822. His will names only his three children.

I, I, Michael Caffey, being duly impressed with uncertainty of life
and the certainty of death and being, thank God, of sound mind, do herein make my last will and testament
as follows:
1st: I five and bequeath to my wife, Christina Caffey, two cows and calves, one
sow and pigs, and provisions to do her one year. 2nd: To my son, Avington B. Caffey, I give and
bequeath one bed and furniture and my family clock. 3rd: To my daughter, Manerva Merritt, I give
and bequeath one dollar. 4th: It is my will that the balance of my estate of which I may be possessed
at my death with consisting of what __ may be equally divided between my son Avington B. Caffey and
my daughter Rebecca Adams. 5th: I appoint my son Avington B. Caffey executor of this my last and
only will and testament who after paying my just debts and funeral expenses, may make the distribution
according to my will above specified. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
4th day of August 1848.

Personally appeared before me, David Campbell, Judge of Probate of said Co, Sylvanus
Walker, a subscribing witness to the foregoing paper writing and after being duly sworn deposeth and
said that he was present and same Michael Caffey whose name is signed to the foregoing paper writing
sign and seal the same as and for his las will and testament that he the said Michael Caffey at the
time he signed said paper writing was of a sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding; that
he the deponent, signed said paper writing as a witness in the presence of and at the request of the
said Michael Caffey and in the presence of Willy T. Bobbett, who witnessed the same the day and date
the same bears date and that the said Michael Caffey was more than twenty years of age and that Willey
T. Bobbitt subscribed his name as a witness then and thereto.
