Jo Maxine Evatt Caffey Nov. 20, 1997
BROWNWOOD -- Jo Maxine Evatt Caffey, 88, of Clifton and formerly
of Brownwood, died Wednesday in a Waco nursing home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in
Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with the Rev. Bill Allen officiating.
Mrs. Caffey was born in
May and graduated from Sidney High School in 1928. She moved to Brownwood in 1942 from the Sidney area.
She worked at Safeway and Brownwood Manufacturing Co, both in Brownwood, and moved to Clifton in 1988.
She was active in Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood
and was the widow of Robert Weaver Caffey, whom she married in 1929 in Comanche. Survivors include
one daughter, Barbara Johnson of Waco; one sister, Garlyn Hoge of NM; and one grandchild.
