Obituary: Leven Lafayette Caffey, 78, died Thurs Jun 24 after a long illness, in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Bilderback, near Morgan. Mr. Caffey was widely known in the southwestern part of the Co. having been engaged in the hardware business in Phillipsburg for nearly 20 years. Funeral services were at 2 pm Sat in the Presb. church in Phillipsburg conducted by the Rev .M. Kerr. Burial was in the Baptist cemetery at Conway. Mr. Caffey, familiarly known as "Lafe Caffey" was born in Laclede Co March 15, 1863 and spent his entire life in the Co.. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Nannie Caffey, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Bilderback, and a son William M. Caffey, who lives at 417 Washington Ave, Springfield.
