About Samuel Lee Maroney:

Samuel Lee Maroney was born April 5th 1862 in , Webster Co, Mo and departed this life November 11th 1934 at the age of 72 yrs 7 months and 6 days. He was united in marrage to Susan Louisa Caffey November 15th 1888. She departed this life January 7th 1927. He is survived by nine children and 13 grandchildren. Mrs. Cinda Little of Nampa, Idaho , Mrs Comer Long of Blair, Nebraska, Linnie, Beulah, Jess, Joe, Vern, Everett and Freeman of the home address. He was converted at the age of 46 and united with the Methodist Church at Eureka. He was a faithful member of the Oddfellow Lodge at Grove Springs. "Uncle Lee" was the last member of his family. His brothers and sisters having gone on before.

His last words after having gone to bed were " Oh Lord have mercy"

A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home which never can be filled, yet again we hope to meet thee when the days of life are fled and in heaven with joy, will greet thee where no farewell tears are shed.

Mrs. Susan Maroney was born Mar, 22nd 1867 passed from this life to her rest and the great beyond June 7th 1927 thus making her nearly 60 years of age. Susan Caffey was married to Lee Maroney Nov 1888 to this union was born nine children five boys and four girls, All are living. She was converted in early life, united with the Methodist Church and lived a faithful christain until death. A very beautiful and comforting message was spoken by Brother Russell using as his text " This is not our rest " " Oh may the entire family realize truly this is not our rest and prepare to meet Mother and make are unbroken family in our fathers mansion where no partings ever come ". Among the Pall Beares were her four half brothers Joe, Arch, Crawford and Ellison Caffey. She was laid to rest in the Eureka cemetery Saturday afternoon June 8th in the presence of many friends and relatives. Aunt Susan was a good wife and Mother and will be sadly missed in her home and community. The family have the sympathy of all. May God who alone is able to bind up our broken hearts and fill the vacant chair, comfort and bless this bereaved home.
