Welcome to the Elizabeth Forey Chapter!

This chapter was the third Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapter organized in Tacoma and the twentieth in Washington State. The chapter name was chosen to honor the first regent, Mrs. Frost Snyder. Mrs. Snyder was a descendant of Elizabeth Forey, wife of PVT John Forey of the Lancaster, Pennsylvania, militia. John Forey was one of six brothers, all of whom were patriots and served in the American Revolutionary War.

Elizabeth Forey Chapter generally draws its members from the Gig Harbor, North Tacoma, and University Place geographic areas, although we have members who live as far away as North Carolina, Virginia, and Idaho.

Our chapter meets on the second Monday at noon of every month except January, June, and August. Our July meeting is always a casual picnic with no formal business meeting.

A diverse group of women accomplished in many different areas, our members are warm and welcoming and dedicated to the stated purposes of our organization of supporting American history, education, and patriotism.

Join us for lunch at one of our meetings and determine if you will find membership in DAR as rewarding as we do!
