Hello All - This is basically a reposting (to a recent posting). Just wanted to put my information out there with a more precise subject line.
I am looking for information on my gggrandfather, Patrick Rutledge.
This is what I have been able to determine:
Patrick Rutledge was born circa 1832 - 1834 (per census info) in County Mayo Ireland (per oral family history). His parents were James Rutledge and Bridget (unknown). Information on his parents names came for his marriage certificate (1854, Dedham, MA).
Patrick emigrated to the US @ 1850, leaving his family behind.
He married Hannah Leahy in 1854 in Dedham, Massachusetts. They and their oldest children remained there until the mid 1860's. They moved to Passaic, NJ and had their remaining children there.
Children born in Massachusetts were: George, Mary, James, John, Ella & Elizabeth
Children born in New Jersey were: Charles, Daisy, Thomas (my great grandfather)
Carrie & Hannah (twins)
At some point between 1880 & 1900, Patrick changed his first name to "John". He appears as John Rutledge married to Hannah on the 1900 Passaic census.
Anyone have any possible link to this family??
I am especially interested in James and Bridget Rutledge in County Mayo, Ireland circa early 1830's.

Hi Rutledges, I was trying to clean off some space in my office
and came
across these notes which Donavon and I took in Gilpin County
Colorado in
the 1970s.
At the Gilpin County historical society was a black notebook on
the top
shelf labeled 1860s. It appeared to be a census or record
of some sort.
In it was the following:

Wiley Blount Rutledge, Jr. was born 20 Jul 1894 in
Cloverport KY and died 10 Sep 1949 in York Co. ME. He is buried
in Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder Co. CO.
He was an attorney, teacher, dean, and US Supreme Court justice.
He was appointed to the court by FDR.
He married on 28 Aug 1917 in Buncombe Co. NC to Annabel Person.
She taught Greek at Maryville College, where I think they met. I
think they had 3 children.
Wiley Blount Rutledge Sr. was born 21 Oct 1861 in Bledsoe Co. TN,
and died 6 Jul 1944.
He was a circuit-riding minister. He m/1 Mary Lou Wigginton ca.
1893 in Bullitt Co. KY. They had at least 3 children, Wiley Jr.
being the eldest.
After Mary Lou's death, Wiley Sr. remarried Tamsey Cordelia Cate,
and they had at least 3 children.
Wiley Sr. was one of the youngest children of Thomas Rutledge
(ca. 1803 VA - 1870) and Thomas' third wife Jane Hall, who was
previously married to a Pope. I'm not sure, but I think Wiley Sr.
was likely the youngest.
