This is the Will of John McGee who married  Mary
McCoun.

Mercer Co. Ky Will Book No. 4 pages 90-91
May 1,1808

"In the Name of God Amen"

"I John McGee of the county aforesaid calling to mind
the mutability of all living and being deeply
impressed with a sense of my approaching dissolution
and at the time being weak in body but of perfect mind
and mempry do ordain and establish this instrument of
writing to be my last will and testament.

 In the first place I resign my soul into the care of
Almighty God who gave it relying alone upon the merits
of Jesus Christ for Salvation and my body I desire to
be descently buried by my Executors to be hereinafter
named.

 Secondly - It is my desire taht my debts be paid out
of what money is due me.

 Thirdly - My son James has got all that I intend to
leave him

 Fourthly- My daughter Polly Woods is to have one half
of a three hundred and twenty seven and three quarters
acre of Land lying on Salt River above the 2nd creek
above Brasheares Creek laid on the shares by John
McCoun Sr. to her and her heirs forever. The other
half the said John McCoun is to have to him and his
heirs for his trouble laying the claim."

5) ( ok I am now paraphrasing) daughters Prudence
Smith, Peggy Simpson, and Ann Smith 360 acres on Salt
Creek to be divided equally

6) sons John, Joseph and William "500 acres of land
adjoining me on the East for which I am now at law
with Joseph Lillard and others"

7) wife Molly and son David to share until wife's
death (then David is to have) "the land I now own and
live on"

8) David is to have Negro man,Tom. The balance of the
negroes since he got from his wife belong to her to
dispose of at her death as she sees fit

9) As to the balance of my personal property including
money, horses, cattle etc.( goes on to list them)
shall go to my wife and my son Davy and at my wife's
death my son Davy is to have the whole

10) Son John to be the executor signed May 1, 1808
witnesses: Robert B. McAfee, Matthew Fosythe, William
Blackwood

Codicil May 14,1808
My daughter Jane McGee who I have omitted to name in
the body of my will got all I ever intended for her

PATRICK MCGEE, KENTUCKY

Will of Patrick McGee page 462 Will Book D 1817-1823
Nelson Co. Ky

"Admonished by the increasing infirmities of old age"
states that daughters Elizabeth ,Polly and Christianna
and son James H. ( all McGees) shall have no further
part of the estate. Gives to 5 sons: John B., Jonathan
D., William S., Paul J. and Enoch R.( in researching
this further some people have the R as a K so maybe it
is a K instead of an R) the land on Corn Creek in
Gallatin Co. Ky that is if Jonathan pays estator
$100.00 each then to have an equal part And if
Jonathan does not pay the said amount then he is to
have $100.00 less(was spelled les in will) in value of
the land as his share which is to go to the executrix
And Paul to have his equal part if he pays the bank
note which testator endorsed for him oterwise his
share to be reduced by as much as he fails to pay.
Gives to four other daughters: Rachel D., Sarah Ann,
Lydia L. and Ann Mariah each $1000.00 in trade if they
do not receive it or part of it before testators death
And if any should receive part of whole amount then to
be reduced by amount recived.
If not enough property to pay this the each shall have
their equal share of what is available.
To beloved wife Rachel during her life or widowhood
the balance of the property to dispose of as she may
please in her will. And if she should marry the
balance to be divided equally among the last 9
mentioned children( goes on to list them again I am
not) And if wife should die without will then divided
equally among them.

Rachel and son John named as Executors. Asked that
they pay any debts that he owes dated June 21,1821
Charles Call, John b. Hambaugh and James Melton were
witnesses
Will was probated Oct. 21,1822
