Oklahoma
When grandfather Kelly died 1937 in LaJunta, CO two children went to Colorado to bury him. A daughtor who lived in Kansas City, KA and a son who lived in Ada OK. I never met either of them, but hope their children will see this and contact me.
The following photographs list the Kelly/Kelley surname by telephone number in Ada, OK. I don't know when these records were made.
I am looking for a Jewell Marie Kelly born to parents: Emmett Thomas
Kelly/Lillian Castle/Kelly/(Frank Harold McGinnis). She was born in Oklahoma in
or about 1915 and has two brothers, Joe Kelly, and Patrick Daniel Kelly, my
beloved father. She was married to an Olen Cates for a very long time, has two
sons and died as a widow. I know that when Olen died-she re-married but died
shortly afterwards at an early age of about 56. Any help would be so
appreciated.
God bless
Sheryl

HI All,
I am researching The Reagan family and have found
that my George Reagan had
a half brother by the name of John Kelley. He was
a lumber dealer from
Philadelphia listed in the directories from 1850 to
1870 on Catharine Street. The
Co. in 1870 was called Kelley and Sons, John,
William and Edward. The 1870
census reads:
John Kelley 62
Catherine
58
Edward 25
Frank 18
George 15
Harry L 11
In the 1860
Census:
John Kelly 58
Catherine 47
William 17
Edward 15
James
12
Frances 9
Geo. 5
Harry 2
Both census' have him listed as a
lumber dealer. Can't find him in any other
census' although he has to be
there because he is in the directory. Now the
big question. Does this family
look familiar to any one? If so please contact
me. I am hoping to find a
connection to my George Reagan and his ancestors.
Thanks
Peggy

Hello All,
I use to communicate with a Kathy Kelly,
yet now seem to have lost her.
I have new information on the Kellys which
I know she would appreciate.
If anyone knows her, would you please ask her to
email me.
Thank you.

This weekend I again attempted to contact Howard B Kelly, g-grandson of Thomas Grover Kelly. Howard's daughter Susan sent me information on this family, but the email address she used is no longer valid.
Data from Susan:
Poteau and Mayes County Oklahoma and Sebastian and Benton County Arkansas.
Thomas Grover Kelly, b. ca 1885, died 1946 in Ada, OK, married Florence Ellen Wallace. Their children were Howard Roland, Hilda Mae and Elizabeth Francis.
Susan is the grandaughter of Howard Roland.
My recent 1920 & 1930 Census search found:
1920
Thomas
H Kelly age 34, residing in Apple Glenn Township, Benton County,
AR
Thomas G. Kelly, age 35, residing in Upper township, Sebastian County,
AR with wife Florence age 36; son Howard 12; daughters: Hilda 9, and
Elizabeth 4; and son Thomas G age 1+.
1930
Thomas H Kelly 44, residing in Apple Glenn Township, Benton
County, AR, with wife Zola, and sons Albert and Howard.
Tom Kelly age
56 residing Pryor, Mayes County OK
Tom G Kelly age 44 born AR,
residing in LeFlore Poteau County OK. ED 26 (Page 4A Line 15 dwelling 85,
family 86) his wife Florence E age 44, daughter Hilda age 19, and son Thomas
Jr age 11. The street name is written on the census but I could not read it.
Susan's information indicated Thomas Grover Kelly died in Ada, OK 1946. She listed his wife as Florence Elizabeth Wallace. I don't know if there is any online access to OK death records. I'll check, that may provide more information. I did not find any military connection for this Thomas G Kelly listed on Ancestry.
I have a full schedule for the remainder of this week. I doubt I can manage to do any additional research before the weekend. I did send a message to a friend, who has a connection to the Library in Fort Smith and ask her to suggest some on line resources I can for that area. I have other relatives who were in Fort Smith at various times.

I know very little about him.He was born Sept.1,1851 in Miss. Word is the family settled around Natchez. He married Margrette Milinda Eggar. Lamar County Texas and possibly in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Here is my most wanted Kelleys or Kelly
The name he went by in Oklahoma
was Thomas Kelly, but his real name is
supposed to be William Mandrew
Thomas Kelly DOB unknown death was-5-1947
his
1st wife Pearl
Leoner Owens DOB 6-15-1882 to 1-1-1919 died with
child.
they had three children 2 Girls Eulah,
11-5-1903 to 5-19-1977, Mable
4-30-1913 death unknown at this
time.
1 son Harvey Benjamin 4-28-1910
to-15-1967
after the death of pearl, W.M.Thomas
Kelley dropped one of the e's and
went to Kelly.
A
story was told to the youngest son of Harvey's on Harvey's death
bed. That Thomas was running from the law in 2 states. The 1st State is
unclear he thinks it was either Alabama or Mississippi. I haven't
been
able
to place him in either state. The 2nd State he
supposedly ran in to
trouble
was in Kentucky. Then Harvey
said they went to Ark. That is were Pearl is
buried, ( so this would
have been around 1919) then moved on in to
Oklahoma
and that
is where Harvey made his home. However, W.M.Thomas Kelly
married
a
Thrasher and they moved on to Texas and that is
where both girls lived
their
lives and died.
If this rings any bells let me
know.
