La Pregunta  <The Query>   

La mejor forma de ilustrar una buena pregunta, es mostrar algunas malas e indicar sus flaquezas

<The best way to illustrate a good query is to show some bad ones and indicate their flaws>. 

Pregunta #1  <Query #1> 
 

El primer error que tiene esta pregunta, es que está escrita enteramente en letras MAYUSCULAS. Una pregunta como esta es inaceptable por esa sola razón. La pregunta #1 es referida cómicamente como la pregunta que tiene el "Avemaría". Quien hace la pregunta requiere información, pero no ofrece ninguna. Quien hace la pregunta falla en indicar de donde proviene la familia Hernandez Brea o de cual periodo de tiempo particular se esta requiriendo información. Esto podría ayudar a cualquiera a inferir que la persona que esta haciendo la pregunta #1, ha hecho poca o ninguna investigación referente a su rama familiar, y esto seria de muy poca ayuda para cualquiera que este haciendo investigación en la misma rama familiar o tenga el deseo de cooperar.

<The first thing wrong with Query #1 is that it is written entirely in CAPITALIZE letters.  A query such as this is unacceptable for this reason alone.   Query #1 is comically referred to have the "hail Mary" query.  The submitter is requesting information but is not offering any in return.  The submitter fails to indicate where his family Hernandez Brea is from or what particular time period he is requesting information for.  This would infer to anyone reading the query that the individual submitting Query #1 has done little or no research reference his family line, and thus would be of little help to anyone doing research on the same family line.> 

Pregunta #2  <Query #2>   
 

 La pregunta #2 es mejor que la pregunta #1. En ella se hace uso propio de las letras mayúsculas y minúsculas y los pueblos o lugares en cuestión son indicados. La pregunta #2 sin embargo, sufre de estar sobrecargada de informaciones. Hay demasiados apellidos listados en una sola pregunta. La pregunta #2 no indica los periodos de tiempo particulares para los apellidos y no indica la relación familiar entre los apellidos. A parte de indicar los apellidos y pueblos o lugares, la persona que hace la pregunta #2 ofrece poca información. La misma inferencia sugerida en la pregunta #1, puede aplicarse para la pregunta #2.

<Query #2 is better than Query #1.  It makes proper use of capitalization and the towns in question are indicated.  Query #2 however suffers from information overload.  Too many surnames listed in one query.  Query #2 does not indicate the time periods for the particular surnames nor does it indicate the family relationship of the surnames with each other.   Outside of listing the surnames and towns, the person submitting this query offers little information.   The same inference listed for Query #1 can be stated for Query #2.> 

Pregunta #3  <Query #3>   
 

La pregunta #3 es una donde la persona que hace la misma debe estar mas clara sobre cual información especifica ella esta buscando y cual información especifica era conocida sobre el individuo en cuestión. Detalles importantes no son indicados, por ejemplo, el posible periodo de tiempo de los individuos, los nombres de los otros tres hijos, la esposa, porqué se cree que él estuvo  viviendo en Baitoa o se mudó a La Vega. El periodo de tiempo en que María vivió y cuándo pudo haber ocurrido su muerte.

<Query #3 is a query where the person submitting same should have been more clear on what specific information he was requesting and what specific information was already known on the individual in question.  Important details are not indicated, e.g. the possible life span time period of the individuals, the names of the other three children, the spouse, why it was believed he was born in Baitoa or moved to La Vega.  The time period in which Maria lived and where her death may have occurred.> 

Pregunta #4  <Query #4>     
 

La pregunta #4 es un ejemplo de una pregunta bien escrita. No hay dudas de que la pregunta concierne a  Luis Hernandez Tavarez. Un periodo de tiempo especifico y lugar son indicados para Luis así como una esposa. Quien lee este pedido se le advierte que existen informaciones adicionales sobre la línea de familia así como las fuentes correspondientes, las que podrían ofrecerse bajo requerimiento.

<Query #4 is an example of a well written query.  There is no question the query concerns Luis Hernandez Tavarez.   A specific time period and town is specified for Luis as well as a spouse and offspring.   The reader is advised that there is additional family line information and that the source of this information will be provided upon request.> 

Pregunta #5  <Query #5>     
 

La pregunta #5 no es  una pregunta bien escrita del todo, pero por los menos da informaciones sobre los apellidos de los ancestros de la persona que hace la pregunta y no hay dudas de que la pregunta concierne a ellos. Como se indican algunos peridodos de tiempo especificos, esto facilita ubicar las informaciones solicitadas. Una pregunta como esta es la minima y simple  que una persona pudiera hacer para recabar informaciones de los apellidos de sus ancestros u otros que estuviesen investigando. 

<   The question #5 is not a written affluent question absolutely, but by the minuses it gives information on the last names of the ancestors of the person who makes the question and there are no doubts that the question concerns them. As some especific period of time are indicated, this facilitates to locate the asked for information. A question as this is minim and simple that a person could make to successfully obtain information of the last names of his ancestors  or others  that were investigating  >
