Monongalia and Marion Counties
This area was originally Virginia until 1863. My families were  in the part of Monongalia county that was divided off and renamed Marion County, so there were several names for the same place.  Surnames include SWISHER, VINCENT, FERRELL, BUNNER, FAST, HANKS, BRAIN, and HOWELL. Some branches of these families were also in Preston, Upshur, and Doddridge counties. My particular branch of the Swishers moved to Schuyler Co, IL. Related websites include the Vincent page and the Hacker's Creek Pioneers page.

Kentucky

POWELL
Lydia R.  POWELL married Benjamin BOWEN in Warren Co, KY 1 Nov 1827. Benjamin's brother, George A. BOWEN, married an Ann M. POWELL in 1832 in Lincoln Co, MO. Lydia was b. in 1805, and Ann abt 1804, both in KY.  I'm trying to find a POWELL family in KY that both of these women may have come from.

BOWEN
Along with Benjamin and George A. above, other children of Thomas and Mary (STONE) BOWEN were Thomas, Reece, John, Lorenzo, Sarah, Polly, Elizabeth, Anna, and Delilah. I have found marriages for Thomas Jr.  and Sarah, but need to find more info on each of the others.  Thomas and Mary lived in Madison Co, KY in 1800 but later moved to Warren Co, KY where Thomas apparently died, as his estate was inventoried in March 1807. Thomas's parents are unknown, but he and Mary were married in Guilford Co, NC in 1785.

FAGG
James B. FAGG was born in VA abt 1795, and lived in Casey Co, KY in 1820, later moving to Indiana. A large network of people are researching this family and would like to meet you if you are related.
